After selecting a template for your new member, add new through their timeline portal. Member Page Portals

Step 1: Create new family event through timeline portal

Step 2: Choose new event type

<aside> 📖 If you want to add more event types:

1. Duplicate any of the templates below

   The filters will adapt to new template page.

2. Change page emoji

3. Change Cover Image

4. Add new option to Type and show </aside>

Step 3: Add basic event information

<aside> 📖 Add following information if it applies

1. Date
2. Location
   1. Syntax → Place, City, Region, Country
3. Members
4. Notes
5. Word of Mouth (true/false) </aside>

Step 4: Add citations that prove the event

<aside> 📖 Add citations through the body of the page after selecting an event template.

• Add basic info that includes:
  1. Collection (ie. 1940 US Federal Census Records)
  2. Members mentioned
     1. You can add new members here too.
  3. Verification of citaiton: Verification Methods </aside>

<aside> 📖 Add more information that is mentioned in the citation including:

• Address(es) mentioned

• Occupation(s) mentioned

  • Manually connect members associated with occupations mentioned in citations through the occupation pages.

  <aside> 👀 Why?

  There may be multiple people connected to multiple occupations (ie. census records). You’ll need to make those individual connections manually.

  example: The 1930 census reports 3 members with the career Lithographer. You can add the new or existing occupation inside the Add Occupation menu option. Then, you’ll have to navigate to the Lithographer page to add all associated members if they aren’t already listed.

• Religions mentioned

• Conflicts mentioned

  • I use this to only add conflicts the member served in.

• Cemetery listed

• Cause of death listed

These citations can prove not only an event but also other info in the wiki. Might as well make those connections while working on the current citation.
